The inspiration is his work ? JM incorporated a distinctive vocabulary of symbols and motifs into his paintings. Wreaths, crowns, arrows, swords and bones appear repeatedly in the pictorial language. He was inspired by popular culture and the daily sensory experience of bohemian New York in the 1980s.
